Te Whare Puni
Welfare Home for New Zealand Forces
From 1916 to 1919.
Inscription reads:
This building 'Wykeham House' was known in 1916 as the meeting house ('Te Whare Puni') a resident welfare home for convalescing soldiers of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force attached to base hospital at 'Grey Towers' camp, Hornchurch'
This commemorative plaque was unveiled by his excellency the High Commissioner for New Zealand the Rt. Honourable Jonathan Hunt, ONZ on 17th April 2005.
